Dr. Digant Thakkar Started making his own aligners in 2014 with limited knowledge and a strong will to never giveup. Initial start was with outsourcing almost every step from scanning to thermoforming. Idea was to gain knowledge how aligners work and judge the fesability of returns on investment required to be made to make aligners. Over the years today in 2026 technology has advanced so much and has also become very much affordable.
After overwhelming response to 25+ workshops on in-house thermoformed aligner manufacturing and 11 workshops on direct printed aligners starting from 26th November 2021 upto 30th July 2026 respectively, on popular demand Dr. Digant Thakkar is introducing complete inhouse aligners from Biomechanics to Manufacturing of Aligners on 11th & 12th September 2026 in the beautiful city of Rajkot, Gujarat at our D3D Academy.

The first day comprise on Basics of 41+ cases treated with thermoformed & Direct printed aligners, biomechanics and protocols with aligner planning, photographs and scans at regular stages to see what worked and what didnt work according to the plan. Here we emphasize on superimpositon the actual outcome to actual planned movements and highlight whey some teeth didnt track – basically the mistakes made by me so you don’t make them.
The Second day morning half is demo on 3D printing, thermoforming, trimming and polishing of aligners & post Lunch session will be on usage of Onyx Ceph software for thermoformed aligners where the participants will plan individual types of cases like spacing, crowding, extraction, deep bite, sequential distalization with protocols learnt on day 1. This will be followed by doubt solving and my consultation workflow aka how I have shifted my 90% of practice to Aligners. Later in the Evening of Day 2 if time permits we will be showcasing Aligner cases with specific non conventional scenarios of your choice based on your doubts and queries from my gallery of 1200+ ongoing aligner cases with scenarios similar to your queries
The TFA course will extend over a span on 2 days and will be an excellent amalgamation of lectures and hands-on modules sharing knowledge right from Aligner Biomechanics with 41+ case examples, choosing the right attachment, how 3D printers work, effectively using softwares, choosing the right software, efficient burs to trim aligners right upto how to make an impressive brand packing for aligners.
